Notes
The
purpose
of this
study
was to
examine
if there
is
a
correlation
between
cognitive
development
levels
and
CMT's
scores
across
fourth
,
fifth
, and
sixth
grade
. The
sample
size
in this
study
consisted
of
30
students
(10
from
grade
four
,
10
from
grade
five
,
10
from
grade
six)
who
participated
in
Piaget's
cognitive

. An
individual
interview
with
each
student
was
conducted
to
determine
the
child's
developmental
level
of
functioning
. The
developmental
assessment
will
determine
whether
or not a
student
is
a
conservers

Area
. In
order
for this
test
to be
successful
the

followed
the

(Flavell

. As
individual
students
were
interviewed
each
was
videotaped
in
order
to
record
the
responses
. The
results
of the
multiple
regression
analysis
indicated
that
all
variables
had a
p
score
higher
than.05
therefore
conservation
ability
of
children
did
not
appear
to
correlate
to
CMT
scores
