Notes	In light of globalization, it is important to understand the immigrant identity and experience. The Moroccan immigrant experience in Spain is especially important because it is an example of the cultural and physical convergence of Europe and Northern Africa. During the past 15 years, Morocco has been the country that has sent the most immigrants to Spain. There have been a growing number of problems of xenophobia and racial discrimination of Moroccans. On the other hand, the influx of immigrants facilitates the mixture of cultures and change in the population. It is therefore important to create an understanding of the Moroccan immigrant identity in Spain in order to facilitate dialogue within the changing Spanish population. The purpose of this study is to explore, in light of the influx of immigrants in the past 15 years from Morocco in Spain, the Moroccan immigrants experience in Spain. Who are the Moroccans immigrating to Spain? What are the different social groups that are immigrating and what are the primary motivations for immigrating? How successful are these immigrants in achieving their desired "new life" in Spain? How do Moroccans address the assimilation process once in Spain? What challenges do Moroccan immigrants face in Spain? Research includes both primary and secondary sources. The primary sources will include recent news articles from Spain, spanning the time from 2002 to the current day. Historical accounts and research articles pertaining to Moroccan immigrants in Spain will also be consulted. These sources will provide a historical and social context about the immigrants currently living in Spain
