Title
Post-traumatic

(PTSD)
and

:
enhancing
coping
strategies
of
veterans
with
PTSD
in their

and

Master's Thesis
Notes
According
to the
United
States
Department
of
Veterans
Affairs
, the
Post
traumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD)
,
is
threatening
the
national
security
as the
biomedical
approach
that has been
used
for
years
for
treating
PTSD
has
proved
to be
less
effective
. The
biomedical
approach
neglects
the
importance
of
treating
PTSD
with
strong
social
,
cultural
,
emotional
,
spiritual
,
relational
and
economic
components
(SCESRE)
which
are
key
to
healing
PTSD
systemically
.
Hence
, there
is
a
great
need
to
integrate
the
social-cultural-emotional-spiritual-relational
and
economic
components
for
treating
PTSD
effectively
. This
thesis
presents
the
argument
that
SCESRE
would
greatly
improve
PTSD
treatment
beyond
current
biomedical
approaches
.
However
,
providing
empirical
support
for this
assertion
is
beyond
the
scope
of this
thesis
.
