Notes	This study attempted to indicate that females and males are judged differently by society when they participate in situations of childcare. The experiment utilized a 2 X 4 factorial design pairing males and females with a male and female protocol of child neglect and child abuse. The treatment variables and their levels included gender of child neglect offender (female or male) and gender of those judging male and female behavior. My hypothesis that female offenders of child neglect and child abuse would be judged more harshly by both males and females than male offenders was confirmed. Significant differences were found for all of the dependent variables used to measure behavior--severity of action; length of prison sentence; amount of fine; the need for individual psychotherapy; how much therapy is appropriate; the need for group therapy; how much is appropriate and harmfulness of actions. A credibility check used by participants to determine the intent of the experiment resulted in - only 10 correct guesses, with the majority of responses indicating that views of child abuse and child neglect were the intent of the study.
