Notes	The Technology Education department at Terryville High School is in the second year of a five-year curriculum review. The department is attempting to restructure its curriculum in order to incorporate the many new technologies with what has been taught at Terryville High School in the past. One of the departments' first ideas was to have each freshman student take a half-year basic course in technology education. This course would be broken down into four five-week increments of drafting and CAD, construction, manufacturing, and electricity. This idea was tabled because the school board believed that they would have to do the same for the Business, Culinary Arts, and Language departments. The departments' next step was to design two new one-half year introductory courses that would allow the students to experience more than one Technology Education field during the course. Exploring Technology was the first course that was implemented in this fashion. The Technology Education fields of construction, manufacturing, and CAD/CAM were incorporated within it. Exploring Technology has now run for two semesters and worked well. The Introduction to Communications course, which is outlined in detail in this project, will be the next half-year introductory course at Terryville High School. This Introduction to Communication course will incorporate the fields of drafting and CAD, desktop publishing, printing, and electronic communications-both wire and wireless. With these two courses, it is hoped that students will get a broader understanding of what is offered in the Technology Education department and what Technology education preferences they may have without having to take a half-year course in each of the four Technology Education Areas.
