investigated
the
manner
in
which
one
elementary
school
operationalized
DDDM
.
Utilizing
a
mixed-methods
design
,
findings
were
generated
from
survey
,
interview
,
observation
, and
artifact
data
to
identify
the
structures
and
processes
utilized
by this
school
as
well
as
perceived
factors
which
support
or
impede
data
use
.
Findings
suggest
data
were
used
as
part
of a
district-wide
initiative
to
document
student
achievement
over
time
,
drive
school
improvement
,
plan
for
professional
development
, and
monitor
and
adjust
instruction
in a
formative
manner
. A
variety
of
meetings
to
calibrate
data
use
,
access
to
data
experts
, a
collaborative
culture
,
knowledgeable
and
supportive
leadership
were
among
the
prominent
structures
identified
to
support
DDDM
.
Conversely
, a
lack
of
time
and
insufficient
professional
development
were
perceived
to
impede
data
use
.
