Notes	This pre-post single group design study examined the effects of an intervention program on "at risk" middle school students in an urban school district. Ten 7th grade students identified as at risk of not successfully completing their middle school education participated in this study. The school prevention team consisting of a social worker, guidance counselor, psychologist, prevention specialist, and truancy specialist provided students with twelve intervention sessions targeting positive attitude towards aggressive behavior, non-compliant school behavior, and academic performance. Intervention sessions taught students, social skills, exposed them to the Ripple Effect Program (a media-based software program that interacts with students to improve school behavior), taught them conflict resolution techniques, and provided students with academic support. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected to ascertain the effects the intervention program had on student attitudes toward aggressive behavior and overall school behavior including academic performance. A School Climate Survey developed to measure aggressive attitudes was administered to student participants. Students' data from reports cards, discipline referrals, suspensions, absences, and reading grades was collected and analyzed at the pre-, post-, and follow-up stages. Students, intervention staff members, parents, and reading teachers also participated in surveys and open-ended questions to ascertain their perceptions of the intervention program. The overall findings revealed that intervention programs can effectively change the attitudes and behavior of "at-risk" students. Furthermore, the perceptions that students, intervention staff members, parents, and teachers had were very positive towards the effectiveness of the intervention program.
