Mortality
was
calculated
by
counting
the
number
of
dead
individuals
within
the
same
digital
photographs
, and
examined
for
seasonal
and
body
size
effects
. The
total
number
of
eggs
counted
from
adult
individuals
collected
on
May
2002
,
August
2003
, and
March
2004
were
examined
for
seasonal
and
body
size
effects
.
Growth
rates
,
mortality
, and
number
of
eggs
produced
were
all
highly
related
to
body
size
.
Growth
rate
decreased
with
increasing
adult
body
size
.
Mortality
was
high
in
smaller
and
larger
individuals
and
low
in
middle
size
individuals
, but
no
seasonal
effects
were
found
. The
total
number
of
eggs
produced
increased
with
increasing
adult
sizes
.
Differences
in
food
availability
might
have
affected
the
total
number
of
eggs
produced
.
