Title	Oral history interview with Raynald E. Bergeron recorded 2010 Mar. 23
Description	Interview conducted by Katherine Jenks. Raynald E. Bergeron joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, and went to Coddington Point, RI for basic training. His training was very short, and he was almost immediately assigned to the U.S.S. Denver, a cruiser commissioned in Philadelphia, Pa. The Denver sailed to the Pacific, taking part in 11 landings and 4 battles, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and the Battle of Okinawa. His job on the ship was as storekeeper, which meant he was responsible for all of the supplies of food, as well as anything else that was not related to ammunitions. Bergeron returned to the United States in the fall of 1945, and was discharged in early 1946. He returned to Connecticut, where he began work at the Collins Company, before becoming the First Selectman of Canton.
