Macsata
joined
the
U.S
.
Army
just
after
graduating
from
high
school
in
1994
. He
went
to
basic
training
at
Fort
Bragg
,
N.C.
,
which
he
describes
as
fast
paced
, and then
went
on to
Fort
Lee
,
Va
. And
Fort
Benning
,
Ga
. For
airborne
school
he was
assigned
to the
528
Special
Operations
Support
Battalion
as an
aviation
fuel
specialist
,
which
he
did
from
1995-1997
. They
went
on
missions
to
Panama
,
Nevada
,
Louisiana
, and
Florida
,
where
they
did
high
speed
re-fueling
. He then
reenlisted
in the
army
, and
received
a
scholarship
to
Worcester
Polytechnic
Institute
,
where
he
received
a
degree
in
Industrial
Engineering
and was
part
of the
ROTC
program
.
After
graduation
from
college
, he was
commissioned
as a
2nd
Lieutenant
and
when
into the
quartermaster
corps
.
Macsata
was
called
up
to
go
to
Iraq
in
2005
,
where
he
managed
numerous
parts
of the
612th
Quartermaster
Company
.
During
the
interview
Macsata
also
talks
about
food
,
stress
,
humorous
events
, and his
fellow
soldiers
.
