John
Wolf
was
drafted
in
1944
and
chose
to
enter
the
Air
Force
because
he
didn't
want
to be in the
Army
. He
completed
his
basic
training
in
Miami
,
FL
, and then
went
on to
learn
how to be an
aircraft
maintenance
technician
.
When
WWII
ended
, he
decided
to
make
a
career
out
of his
military
training
by
remaining
with the
Air
Force
. He was
able
to
travel
all
over
the
world
and the
United
States
. He was also
stationed
in
Vietnam
on
Cam
Rahn
Air
Force
Base
during
the
Vietnam
War
.
Throughout
his
career
in the
Air
Force
he also
managed
NCO
clubs
on the
air
bases
at
which
he was
stationed
. He
retired
from the
military
in
1967
, but
joined
the
American
Legion
, the
VFW
, and the
Disabled
American
Veterans
, the
latter
of
which
he
is
still
very
active
in. He also
volunteered
at the
VA
Hospital
in
Newington
,
CT
for
25
yrs
.
accumulating
over
4,000
hours
of
volunteer
service
.
