This
dissertation
employed
concept
mapping
, a
mixed-method
design
, to
identify
what
schools
need
to
do
to
help
students
get
along
.
Research
on
school
bullying
has
measured
members
comprising
a
school's
social
equation
(students
,
parents
, and
teachers)
. The
associated
findings
contributed
to
anti-bullying
initiatives
credited
for
decreasing
the
number
of
student
victims
and
bystanders
but not
affecting
the
number
of
students
who
bully
(Rigby
,
2002a)
. The
present
study
used
concept
maps
to
identify
structured
conceptualizations
of the
research
question
.
Findings
indicate
environmental
variables
and
organizational
frameworks
associated
with
school
climate
influence
how
students
get
along
. To
sustain
behavior
change
among
students
,
educational
leaders
need
to
create
and
support
schools
that
evidence
the
interplay
among
shared
mission
,
practices
, and
experiences
.
