Notes	The present study examined menu labeling’s influence on college students’ caloric intake. College students were grouped based on the type of fast-food menu calorie-labeling condition. The total number of calories ordered by each student was then evaluated. College students ordered less calories from the menu labeled with calorie and recommended daily caloric intake information compared to those who ordered from the menu with only calorie information and those who ordered from the menu without calorie information. In addition, college students with healthy Body Mass Indices (BMIs) ordered fewer calories than those with overweight BMIs or obese BMIs. Further, when ordering from a fast-food menu that contains calorie and recommended daily caloric intake information, college students with obese BMIs ordered more calories than those with healthy BMIs or overweight BMIs. Avenues for future research on potential prevention programs designed to reduce obesity levels in the United States are discussed.
