7:00 Drafted by US Army in 1945. Reports to Camp Gordon, GA. Boot camp experience.
11:45 First time firing a rifle. Life at Camp White. Watching paratroopers.
13:00 Heading to San Francisco. Truman drops the bombs. Onboard a transport to Hawaii. War ends but Holmes heads to the Philippines and onto Japan.
17:50 weather forces destination to Okinawa. Life on Okinawa. Storm hits Okinawa.
